The first leg of this 2-part journey takes you to one of Botswana’s most beautiful conservation areas the Okavango Delta. This incredible natural wonder was created millions of years ago by the shifting of Africa’s Great Rift Valley and today millions of gallons of water flood the Delta each year creating a wonderland of wooded islands permanent lily-filled swamps and lagoons and seasonal floodplains dotted with palms sausage trees fig trees and scrub. The Delta offers good year-round game viewing of iconic African game and you can also sight an abundance of water-loving birds and uncommon aquatic antelope like lechwe and sitatunga.
